Retrospective and new opportunities
Dear colleagues and readers of our Magazine!
In August 2017, the jubilee 70th Miner's Day is celebrated. On the eve of the upcoming holiday, first of all, I want to answer myself to one of the most important questions: have we done everything to make mining work less dangerous? Are the efforts spent on the development of new safe technologies and technical devices sufficient to achieve the main goal - to prevent a series of accidents at the enterprises of the coal industry.
Therefore, several materials of the publication you are considering are devoted to the analysis of the current and retrospective state of industrial safety in coal enterprises.
The level of complexity of the economic situation in the country and the industry is always directly related to accidents and injuries and the worst statistical indicators fall on the years of economic recession and are the result of inadequate financing of labor protection and industrial safety measures, as well as weakened control over their observance. Is it possible to reduce the impact of this negative connection and we are trying to find an answer to this question in the publications of our authors on the pages of the magazine.
The tendencies observed in the intellectual space of our industry, on the one hand, cause deep concern due to the disunity of the scientific community, on the other hand, it is gratifying that more and more often young researchers who are sincerely wanting to be brought to the scientific Community their own vision of certain issues. And our editorial board does its best to help novice authors and scientists to get involved in solving potentially important scientific problems.
Editorial Board congratulates all those for whom the miner's work is an essential part of everyday life, with the coming Day of the Miner 2017!
Sincerely, Nelya Trubitsyna
